Description
Deliciously crispy air fryer garlic butter tortillas, perfect for dipping in marinara or pizza sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 soft taco size flour tortillas
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 0 teaspoons kosher salt, or to taste
- 0 teaspoons red pepper flakes, optional
- 0 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 0 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, optional
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
- 0 cups marinara or pizza sauce for serving, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and olive oil until combined.
- Stir in the minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes until the mixture is evenly seasoned.
- Lay the flour tortillas on a cutting board or work surface. If your air fryer basket is small, cut the tortillas in half so they fit in a single layer.
- Brush the top of each tortilla generously with the garlic butter mixture, making sure to coat all the way to the edges.
- Sprinkle each tortilla with grated Parmesan, followed by a light layer of shredded mozzarella if using.
- Add a pinch of extra Italian seasoning and some chopped fresh parsley over the cheese on each tortilla.
- Place the tortillas in the air fryer basket in a single layer, cheese side up, working in batches if needed so they are not overlapping.
- Air fry for 4–6 minutes, or until the edges are golden, the cheese is melted, and the garlic is fragrant, checking at the 4-minute mark to prevent burning.
- Carefully remove the tortillas from the air fryer and they will crisp up slightly as they cool.
- Transfer the tortillas to a cutting board and slice each one into wedges or strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Sprinkle with additional fresh parsley and a tiny pinch of salt if desired.
- Serve warm with marinara or pizza sauce for dipping, and enjoy immediately for the best texture.
Notes
- For an extra crunch, let the tortillas cool for a few minutes after air frying.
- Experiment with different seasonings to vary the flavor.
