Description

A comforting, aromatic festive punch that’s perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups apple juice (preferably unsweetened)
  • 1 cup pear juice (or pear nectar)
  • 1 cup cranberry juice (preferably 100% juice)
  • 1 orange citrus slices (thinly sliced)
  • 1 lemon citrus slices (thinly sliced)
  • 2 sticks cinnamon (whole sticks)
  • 4 cloves (whole)
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice (whole or ground)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (sliced thin, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or soda (optional, for a bubbly finish)
  • a few sprigs fresh mint or rosemary (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and tools, including a large pot, measuring cups, a sharp knife, and a ladle.
  2. Thinly slice the citrus fruits and set aside, so they’re ready to add to the pot.
  3. Pour the apple, pear, and cranberry juices into the large pot, then add the citrus slices along with the whole cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and sliced ginger if using.
  4. Place the pot over medium-low heat and gently warm the mixture, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer softly for about 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the aroma to fill your kitchen.
  5. Taste the warm punch and stir in honey or maple syrup to balance the acidity and add sweetness as desired.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and strain out the whole spices and citrus slices if you prefer a clearer beverage, or leave them in for a more rustic look.
  7. Pour the warm punch into glasses, adding a splash of sparkling water or soda for a bubbly finish if desired.
  8. Garnish each glass with fresh mint or rosemary sprigs for a fragrant, festive touch.
  9. Serve immediately while warm, and enjoy the comforting, aromatic flavors of this festive punch.
