- 1 lb ground beef (use Halal ground beef; can substitute with ground chicken or turkey)
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 cup beef broth (Halal)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (ensure Halal-certified)
- 4 pieces hamburger buns (toast if desired)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or mozzarella; for a classic French onion touch)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until they become caramelized and golden brown.
- Once the onions are ready, push them to the side and add the ground beef into the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the beef. Mix in the caramelized onions until they’re well combined.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir the mixture, allowing it to simmer for 5 minutes until everything is heated through and the liquid is slightly reduced.
- Spoon a generous portion of the beef mixture onto the bottom bun and top it with shredded cheese.
- If you prefer melty cheese, place the sandwiches under the broiler for 1-2 minutes—watch closely to prevent burning!
