Description

A delicious cake with a creamy cinnamon topping that leaves everyone wanting more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tub (16 ounces) cream cheese frosting
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top.
  5. In a medium bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and remaining 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until well combined.
  6. Slowly pour the cinnamon mixture over the warm cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  7. Cool the cake completely.
  8. Stir the cream cheese frosting with the milk until smooth and spreadable.
  9. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • This cake is best served cold after refrigerating.
  • For extra flavor, try adding chopped nuts on top of the frosting.
