- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tub (16 ounces) cream cheese frosting
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and remaining 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Slowly pour the cinnamon mixture over the warm cake, letting it seep into the holes.
- Cool the cake completely.
- Stir the cream cheese frosting with the milk until smooth and spreadable.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Notes
- This cake is best served cold after refrigerating.
- For extra flavor, try adding chopped nuts on top of the frosting.
