Description

A hearty and flavorful meat sauce made with ground beef and Italian sausage, perfect for serving over your favorite pasta.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 56 oz can pureed tomatoes (2-28oz cans)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • more salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the pan, breaking up as it cooks.
  3. Once meat is cooked through, drain off the excess oil.
  4. Pour meat into the bowl of the slow cooker.
  5. Stir in the onion, garlic, pureed tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil, parsley, and oregano.
  6. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8.
  7. Add more salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve over your favorite pasta.

  • This sauce is great for meal prep, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
